Administrator - Coventry, UK

Mitutoyo’s MGT (Mitutoyo Gauging Technology) is the UK leader in bespoke solutions to the Metrology market with both UK and Global customers.  

 

We are seeking an Administration Assistant to join our team in MGT, based in the Coventry office and support the MGT General Manager in the day-to-day administration of the department. 

 

Responsibilities 

The Administration Assistant will primarily focus on the administration of the department purchasing system but will also work with all other administration duties as required, some of which are listed below: 
 

Administration of the MGT purchasing system including: 

  • Creating Purchase Orders 

  • Liaising with suppliers 

  • Tracking and chasing overdue purchase orders 

 

Document Administration including: 

  • Updating of project documentation including user manuals 

  • Administration of project plans 

  • Administration of production plans 

  • Updating of department documentation 

 

Sales administration including: 

  • Sales order processing 

  • Prepare sales quotations 

 

Key requirements 

  • Experience in administration  

  • Excellent communication skills 

  • Organised, flexible and self-motivated 

  • Experience of Microsoft Office suite (Word/Excel/Outlook) 

  • Willingness and ability to learn

Field Service Engineer - Halifax, UK

 

Working independently representing Mitutoyo at Customer premises, this role supports the field service team. The role is managed from our Andover HQ Service centre and covers installation, service, repair, and calibration of our precision measuring equipment. 
 

This is a field-based role focusing mainly on our customer base in the North of the UK, although travel further afield maybe required as well as occasional overnight stays. 
 

Responsibilities 

Visit customer sites to: 

  • Install Mitutoyo precision measuring equipment. 

  • Complete service and calibration work. 

  • Undertake trouble shooting including fault-finding, diagnosis and rectification. 
     

Key requirements 

  • Minimum of HNC/BTEC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or relevant industry experience. 

  • Effective communicator, organisation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 

  • Good IT skills. 

  • Full valid driving license. 
     

Desirable requirements 

  • Experience of fault finding on mechanical/electrical systems. 

  • Strong time management skills. 

  • Have good interpersonal skills.

Metrologist - Coventry, UK

Mitutoyo are looking for a Metrologist to join our team based at our Coventry UKAS Laboratory to undertake calibration and certification of Dimensional Measuring Equipment and Reference Masters in line with the laboratory’s approved operating procedures, maintain administrative reporting and accurate records. 

The successful applicant will 

  • have relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or experience or have undertaken an appropriate engineering apprenticeship followed by substantial experience in standards room and/or gauge inspection techniques. 

  • have experience of inspection techniques in order to relate to customer applications and the subject is essential. 

  • have an in-depth knowledge of terminology specific to our industry.  

  • be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of dimensional metrology. 

  • be able to work independently representing Mitutoyo at our own sites and at customer premises.  

  • have good communication, organisational and I.T. skills. 

  • have a willingness to learn; be very well organised, presentable, flexible and self-motivated.

Mechanical Design Engineer - Coventry, UK

Mitutoyo’s MGT (Mitutoyo Gauging Technology) is the UK leader in bespoke solutions to the Metrology market with both UK and Global customers. Due to continued growth we are seeking Mechanical Design Engineer to join our design team in MGT, based in the Coventry office.

Responsibilities 

The Mechanical Design Engineer will focus on the design of Gauges, Fixtures and Systems. You will work alongside our Software and Electrical Engineers and Technicians on a daily basis as projects are taken from the initial concept through to testing and then delivery. This will encompass all activities throughout the design process including: 

  • Understanding and interpreting customer requirements 

  • The invention of novel ideas (concepts) to meet customer requirements 

  • Critical appraisal of yours and others designs within the design team to ensure robustness of design 

  • 3D modelling of concepts 

  • 3D modelling of detailed designs for manufacture 

  • 2D draughting of manufacturing drawings 

  • Support of technicians in the assembly and testing of your designs 

  • Good general mechanical understanding and knowledge 

 

Key requirements 

  • Have an appropriate mechanical engineering background 

  • Have appropriate experience using a 3D CAD package 

  • Have a good knowledge of different materials and manufacturing processes 

  • An aptitude for problem solving and the ability to develop solutions for complex problems 

  • Experience of industry standard drafting practices and principles 

  • Effective communicator at both a technical and project level to all stakeholders
