Field Service Engineer - Sheffield, UK

Working independently representing Mitutoyo at Customer premises, this role supports the field service team. The role is managed from our Andover HQ Service centre and covers installation, service, repair, and calibration of our precision measuring equipment. 
 

This is a field-based role focusing mainly on our customer base around Sheffield, although travel further afield maybe required as well as occasional overnight stays. 
 

Responsibilities 

Visit customer sites to: 

  • Install Mitutoyo precision measuring equipment. 
  • Complete service and calibration work. 
  • Undertake trouble shooting including fault-finding, diagnosis and rectification. 
     

Key requirements 

  • Minimum of HNC/BTEC or equivalent in an engineering discipline, or relevant industry experience. 
  • Effective communicator, organisation skills and a high level of accuracy and attention to detail. 
  • Good IT skills. 
  • Full valid driving license. 
     

Desirable requirements 

  • Experience of fault finding on mechanical/electrical systems. 
  • Strong time management skills. 
  • Have good interpersonal skills.

Working independently representing Mitutoyo at Customer premises, this role supports the field service team. The role is managed from our Andover HQ Service centre and covers installation, service, repair, and calibration of our precision measuring equipment. 
 

This is a field-based role focusing mainly on our customer base in the North of the UK, although travel further afield maybe required as well as occasional overnight stays.

Metrologist - Coventry, UK

Mitutoyo are looking for a Metrologist to join our team based at our Coventry UKAS Laboratory to undertake calibration and certification of Dimensional Measuring Equipment and Reference Masters in line with the laboratory’s approved operating procedures, maintain administrative reporting and accurate records. 

The successful applicant will 

  • have relevant mechanical engineering qualifications or experience or have undertaken an appropriate engineering apprenticeship followed by substantial experience in standards room and/or gauge inspection techniques. 

  • have experience of inspection techniques in order to relate to customer applications and the subject is essential. 

  • have an in-depth knowledge of terminology specific to our industry.  

  • be able to demonstrate a good working knowledge of dimensional metrology. 

  • be able to work independently representing Mitutoyo at our own sites and at customer premises.  

  • have good communication, organisational and I.T. skills. 

  • have a willingness to learn; be very well organised, presentable, flexible and self-motivated.

This is a full-time position. 8.30am to 5.00pm, Monday to Friday.
